Ideal for family with children

It partially felt like going back in time to 'grand hotels' I only saw in movies! The staff at the pool area were attentive, ensuring our kids had everything they needed.

It wasn’t exactly a bargain, but we found it worth every penny.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location was ideal for exploring Florence and Lucca. Breakfast had highlights, especially some delightful bread. Don't miss trying the pork dish at dinner—the flavor was unforgettable! Pro tip, ask the staff for fresh milk options for your cappuccino.

I enjoyed three wonderful nights in a spacious room with comfy beds and great amenities. The pool and garden area were perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Just a minor note, the decor felt a bit dated, but it didn’t take away from the charm! 😊

I spent five nights at Grand Hotel Plaza & Locanda Maggiore for work and had a wonderful experience. The hotel's location in the main square was perfect, just a five-minute walk from the Montecatini Centrale train station, making it easy to explore Tuscany. My room was spacious and comfortable, with modern amenities including a new bathroom suite and tea/coffee facilities. The staff were exceptional, providing thorough assistance with my work needs, including setting up my presentation equipment. Dining options were also impressive, with an accommodating restaurant staff.

The walls between the rooms were quite thin.

Morning coffee disaster

The lobby you step into feels grand, reminiscent of a time long gone. I loved the old-world charm, vibrant atmosphere, and the warm greetings from the staff.

However, breakfast was a letdown. The coffee left much to be desired. it resembled dishwater more than a fresh brew, and the breakfast choices were quite limited.

Had a wonderful time at this historic hotel! The terrace pool is perfect for relaxing afternoons, and the little pool hut serving drinks and snacks is a nice touch. Plus, the location is prime for train travel around Tuscany!

We stayed in a spacious double room that felt really grand with high ceilings and elegant details. The bathroom was a great size too, which is always a bonus! Plus, having a little outdoor terrace was a nice touch for some fresh air. Only downside was the decor—definitely old-fashioned, which may not suit everyone’s taste. But overall, it was comfortable and had all the basics covered.

Helpful staff during check-in process.

Our stay was plagued by noise from the restaurant below. The loud music blared until midnight, making it impossible to sleep. Even after we moved rooms, the initial disruption had already ruined our experience.

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff, but room size was a bit cramped.

I absolutely loved the charming old-world ambiance! The piano playing in the evenings added a magical touch. However, I wish there were coffee options in the room. Overall, a delightful stay! 😊
